Today was my first day at the office after a two week hiatus. I thought I was prepared by entering the office with an empty inbox, all my tasks stored in OmniFocus, all organised per projects, single tasks list or context.

So this morning I entered the office, opened my Mac, went into OmniFocus and panic struck me. Or anxiety may be a better way to put it.
The last year has been a year of stress and work overload and I really didn’t want that to happen again this year.

I decided to call it a false start, and ended up brewing an El Salvador on a V60 filter, and went back to my desk for a second attempt, supported by a good cup of coffee. What followed was a day where I started picking the easy and slow things from my list, and leaving the stressfull things by for the time being.
It’s something I’ll probably do tomorrow too, gradually building up a steady rhythm of easy and complex.

I don’t do resolutions, but keeping the year easy going would be quite high on my hypothetical list of resolutions.
